Australia Seals ODI Whitewash Over India

Australia has sealed a 3-0 series whitewash over India in the women's One-Day Internationals (ODIs) after all-rounder Annabel Sutherland delivered a career-best 110 in sweltering conditions at the WACA in Perth. Sutherland's innings, which featured nine boundaries and four sixes, steered Australia to an imposing 6-298, the highest team total at the Perth venue in women’s ODIs[1].

The match saw Indian seamer Arundhati Reddy rip through Australia’s top order with career-best figures of 4-26 from ten overs. However, Sutherland and fellow all-rounder Ash Gardner steadied the ship with a 96-run partnership for the fifth wicket before spinner Deepti Sharma broke the stand. Tahlia McGrath joined Sutherland at the crease, and the duo clobbered a rapid 122 runs during the death overs to topple the Australian record for the highest sixth-wicket partnership in women’s ODIs.

Sutherland reached triple figures in the final over with a massive six but was run out on the penultimate delivery of the innings. This victory marks a significant win for Australia in the series, showcasing the team's resilience and Sutherland's exceptional batting skills.
