Australia Seals ODI Whitewash Over India

Australia has sealed a 3-0 series whitewash over India in the women's One-Day Internationals (ODIs) after Annabel Sutherland's outstanding performance. Sutherland, a 23-year-old all-rounder, smacked her second ODI century in sweltering conditions at the WACA, leading Australia to a total of 6-298, the highest team total at the Perth venue in women’s ODIs[1].

Sutherland's career-best 110 (95), featuring nine boundaries and four sixes, was instrumental in steering Australia towards victory. She received crucial support from fellow all-rounders Ash Gardner (50 from 64 deliveries) and Tahlia McGrath (56 not out from 50 balls). Indian seamer Arundhati Reddy, who wasn't selected for the first two ODIs, had a career-best performance with 4-26 from ten overs, but her efforts were not enough to prevent the whitewash[1].

The match saw a dramatic turn of events, with Reddy ripping through Australia’s top order before Sutherland revived the innings. The Australian team managed to overcome the initial collapse, thanks to Sutherland and Gardner's partnership, which was followed by a rapid 122-run stand between Sutherland and McGrath during the death overs. This partnership helped Australia break their own record for the highest sixth-wicket partnership in women’s ODIs[1].
